Server components, route folders and layouts — what clicked, what confused me, and how I structure projects now.

Moving the LMS project to the App Router meant rethinking where data is fetched and which components need to run in the browser.

Folders are the routing API

Every route is a folder with a page file. Layouts nest naturally, and dynamic segments like [slug] make content pages trivial to scale.

Server by default

Keeping components on the server unless they need interactivity shrank the client bundle noticeably, and made data fetching far simpler.
