What 250 LeetCode problems taught me about real code

Patterns from algorithm practice that show up in everyday full-stack work — and the ones that don't.

I started LeetCode for interviews. I kept going because it changed how I read and write production code.

Hash maps everywhere

Turning an O(n²) lookup into O(n) with a map is the single most useful trick I've carried into real projects — from grouping orders to de-duplicating uploads.

Where it stops helping

Real systems are mostly about data modelling, naming and failure handling. Algorithms sharpen thinking; they don't replace design.
